Floor Coating Cleaning & Maintenance

All floors require cleaning and maintenance to obtain maximum longevity.  Floors cannot be cleaned too often.  Although a coated floor will typically ease maintenance and reduce maintenance costs versus an uncoated floor, cleaning maintenance is still required.

To maximize the lifespan of your investment, routine maintenance procedures and a schedule is crucial for optimal traction, gloss retention, aesthetics and protective durability of your floor.  The environment, volume and type of soilage occurring, type and extent of traffic, as well as exposure to harsh chemicals, will be the ultimate determining factors in the frequency of cleaning maintenance.

Regular dust mopping removes abrasive particles from the surface of the coating which would otherwise begin to create fine marks in the coating film.

Spot treating spills as soon as possible helps to lessen potential slip/fall hazards as well as potential surface damage from chemicals which may cause etching or staining to the coating should it remain on the surface too long.

Use only a neutral detergent for general purpose cleaning.  Coatings are intended to allow most soils to release from the surface with an appropriate cleaning.  Avoid using any anything which are more aggressive than necessary  to remove the soil and only in the area with a stubborn soil, not the entire floor.  Never use  abrasives to remove soils otherwise damage to the coating is likely.

Never drag things across a floor to avoid damage from gouging or chipping the coating or the substrate beneath the coating, especially blunt metal objects such as a pallet with a protruding nail, pipes, etc.
